Project Scope: Full-Home Furnishings / Partial Remodel / Art / Rugs / Styling
Tucked behind large wisteria trees and lush hedges, this private 1930’s Spanish Bungalow is our client’s favorite pied-à-terre, situating at the heart of West Hollywood. An entrepreneur in Tech & Film, this client juggles an active lifestyle between Vancouver and LA, often retreating to this home for long weekends. As such, it was important for this space to feel lived-in and relaxed, while maintaining elements of refinery and personal style.
We began with a set principle of natural materials we wanted to implement in order to create a sense of rustic charm and countryside calm. Staying true to the Spanish architecture, we limed-plastered all the common spaces during the extensive remodel, as well as the addition of reclaimed ceiling support beams, a Calacatta Viola fireplace, and a 18th-century wrought iron chandelier to anchor the main Living Room. A selection of soft flax-linens and rattan weaves can also be seen throughout different motifs, from lighting to upholstery and drapes. We also placed a curated series of vintage seating, tables, and accents in each bedroom, with earthy neutrals as the complementary backdrop. The result is a space that’s both welcoming and intimate, perfect for an extended holiday.
